Lisa Downing is the founder and principal of Connections Consulting Company. Her expertise is her understanding the impact of international market trends on the movement of people, culture and capital in urban areas including real estate. For more than 15 years she has worked in both the corporate and non-profit sectors as a researcher, evaluator, community and country ethnographer and management consultant. In these various capacities, she developed her expertise in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis; executive assimilation and development, leadership, education, community development, diversity and now New York real estate.

Lisa has worked for distinguished organizations such as: American Express, the Ford Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Academy for Educational Development, Africare and now Warburg Realty Partnership. Ms. Downing is a strategic thinker, applied researcher and skilled evaluator. She knows how to facilitate organizational and individual change through strategic planning, process consulting and policy development. Overall, her keen listening skills and her desire to meet the needs of her clients enhance her relationships with people particularly when it comes to marketing real estate.
Ms. Downing has traveled extensively in West Africa (Nigeria, Senegal, the Gambia and Mali) where she both lived and worked. It was during her travels in West Africa that she developed an interest in African Art, its symbolism and the artists. The experience heightened her awareness of global interdependence and helped Ms. Downing to realize her role in making the linkages between culture, economics and politics. These connections are critical to the growth and success of organizations and their leaders in the 21st century.

Ms. Downing holds a Master of Science Degree in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from New School University. In addition, she has extensively studied cultural anthropology at the doctoral level at the City University of New York Graduate Center. She is a member of the National Black MBA Association, National Organizational Development Network and presently serves on the board of the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association.
